Destined Journey Defined

What's Meant to Be Will Be...

“What’s meant to be will be”. I find myself saying that a lot lately. In times where you just don’t know how things will turn out. It reminds me that God has full and total control over my life. It reminds me that my life has purpose and meaning. Even if I fully don’t know what that is yet. It reminds me that change is inevitable, beautiful, scary and meaningful.

How do we navigate this journey of life when we don't know or don’t like the outcome of a situation or chapter. Do we stop the journey and get off the ride? Do we try and take total control? Does that mess with the purpose and definition of the journey?

This journey can be so confusing. It can get messy and questionable.

So how do we sit with how it plays out.

Below are a list of scriptures that I often refer to that solidify the fact that, everything happens as it should and “what’s meant to be will be”.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 says,

For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.

Job 42:2 says

“I know that you can do anything,
and no one can stop you.

Proverbs 19:21 says

You can make many plans,
but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.

As I grieve for this space that our country is in, for my black brothers and sisters and other communities of color. I am empowered. I am empowered by the word of God. By the movement of the people.

I am empowered to know that we are on this ride together.

Knowing that there is a plan and purpose to this journey is essential. It’s essential to wellbeing and essential to this time that we sit in together. This time where no one knows the outcome. This time where we not only pray for healing and a cure. This time where we pray for racial reconciliation and understanding.

It’s about knowing that I don’t have all of the facts but walking in the boldness that I am learning, growing and realizing God’s plan everyday!
